Hey,

I picked up the game yesterday and for as much reading as I did in the past few months about it, I feel like I'm totally in the dark! I've got some pretty basic questions, but ones that i couldnt find on gamefaqs.com. I'll put them behind a cut in case anyone is spoiler sensitive.

So the only way to save your progress, and then play later on, is to turn your 360 off in the middle of the game?

I'm a level 11 or so, the only way to get back to the security room seems to be using the Paradise Plaza door, then going through the warehouse and up to the roof. Is this always the case? Will I ever get a key to the rest of the security doors?

I had just got back to the security room with the medicine for Brad when the game told me i missed a scoop and i would never know the truth. why would it overlap required quests? did i eff something up? i got to Brad as fast as i could, and it seems like i killed Steven pretty quickly.

Do you have to keep a book on your person for its effects to work? Like if i have an entertainment book, does that mean i've leved up the entertainment weapons for good for the rest of the game? or only if i'm carrying the book and a bowling ball or whatever?

if i save someone, then save my stats and restart, do i have to save that person again? or can i ignore them and work on the other cases? (besides the required people and quests of course)

i have a bunch more, but i'm drawing a bit of a blank. thanks for setting up a community where we can talk about the game and ask these kind of questions without bogging down the gamers communities.

oh and my gamertag is Callmesteam if anyone is down for some UNO.

Not sure what you mean here. You can save in the security room, or any restrooms found thruout the mall. There are a couple of other save points but they'd lead to spoilers as you find them later on in the game.

You can go thru the security doors after the helicopter arrives in day 4 I believe.

Do you have to keep a book on your person for its effects to work?
Yes. If you have the book it boosts certain items in your inventory, if you don't have the book the items lose their boost.

if i save someone, then save my stats and restart, do i have to save that person again?
Yes.

I may get the full version of UNO when I buy the vision camera but I'm still on the fence w/ it. My gamertag is tmac0381 by the way, feel free to add me.

i mean, i died and the only options it gives me are load from last save point, and save stats and start over. why would i save, and then start over? so i'm having to just shut down my xbox to make sure i can load from my last save, when i dont want to keep playing just then.

thanks for the other info... that sucks that you have to save everyone every time. so far i'm on day 3 or so and i've saved only like 8 people. it kinda sucks dragging them through the mall to get back to that one unlocked door. they are so dumb and always get trapped behind zombies. i like the ones that i can carry. i just run defense and haul ass back to the security room.

either way, thanks for clarifying things. i added you.

and ranked multiplayer UNO is great! the PC is waaaay too easy when you play against it, but real players add a different level.

Ah ok, I see what you mean. Whenever I got destroyed by one of the psychopaths (mini-bosses or whatever) in the mall I'd usually start over just so I could level up. After several deaths I went into the maintenance tunnels and drove around for a loooong time and got the genocider achievement and waited for the helicopter. You can continue to play if you miss one of the case events. I went thru the game another time starting at around level 47 or so with a special weapon awarded for the genocider and surviving for 3 days; makes the game much easier.

level 47! how many levels are there?

so if you receive a special weapon... do you get to keep it at all times? does it wear out? is it always in a safe location?
